Bartzokas: «We want to thank our fans»

Giorgos Bartzokas highlighted the powerful presence of the Olympiacos fans in Patras, following the win over Promitheas.

"We want to thank our team fans from Patras and Peloponnese that came to watch our game and support us. We always have to play as serious as possible for them, regardless of winning or losing. And that's very important, because Olympiacos that has fans anywhere we may be playing, our fans need to feel that the team respects them. However, I'm nost satisfied with how we did today, because we committed 21 turnovers. I understand the team, this was the fourth game we played in 7 days, we had to travel, we are tired, but if we manage to deal with every play together as a team, every play, either offensive or defensive, playing simple basketball, then we are a very good team. We have to re-determine what is important in basketball and I'm not talking about specific players. I'm talking for the whole team. It's November, there is no excuse for mental fatigue, we have really big challenges ahead and we always need to play serious".

He went on to say: "As always, Promitheas is a serious team. They are first in steals in the League, it's something we had pinpointed. They average 14 p.g. Today, we made 21 turnovers. We obviously are a good team, we play as a team, we had 31 assists. When we move the ball well, we are compact and it's difficult for anyone to play against us. I wish to thank our fans the players for the win. I also want to wish good luck to Promitheas, I know they have a crucial european game ahead".

Asked if he thinks Olympiacos can finish the regular season of the Stoiximan GBL undefeated, he replied: "I'm not a prophet... The only thing I focus on is preparing the team for the next game. I'm not interested that the game on Sunday is against PAOK. For us, the only game ahead is that of Friday and that's where we should be focusing on. The issue is not of finishing undefeated, the issue is winning the next game".
