A different Sunday Funday Family Game in the game vs ΑΕΚ (Vid)
On Sunday, December 7, in parallel to the game vs AEK, Olympiacos hosted a special Sunday Funday Family Game, that messaged of humanity, inspiration and participation.
A few days after the World Day for People with Disabilities, Olympiacos respectfully paid tribute to our fellow humans and invited the teams' young fans to a meaningful meeting with Paralympic athlete Nikos Papangelis. The remarkable Greek athlete talked openly to the kids, answered their questions, inspired through example and stood out for his ethos and character.

The action took place within the framework of the "Meet the Specialist" series held in the Fun Fan Zone, aiming to showcase that only when sports and society are trully open to all, we can ALL BE FRIENDS. The meeting concluded with an interactive game of learning and awareness building around the daily lives of persons with disabilities.
The day continued with one more special moment: The participation of the Walking Basketball 60+ team to the halftime contest, when they got to score 18 buckets and hence gave a count of the days remaining till Christmas, under loud cheers from the fans! The Walking Basketball action is an innovative incentive to promote healthy and active aging, utilizing basketball as a means of exercising, recovery and social empowerment for people over 60.

The program is designed and brought to life by the non profit COMM'ON, with the support of the Association of Greek Basketball Coaches and the Municipality of Keratsini-Drapetsona, that materializes the first pilot season from October 2025 through May 2026.
The day had a most proper closure, with our team's volunteers. Kostas Papanikolaou, only a few days following the World Volunteering Day (December 5), met with them after the game and stressed that "your services in every game are invaluable; your work is unique and that is what makes us a family". Olympiacos' BC volunteers' team are an indispensable part of the Peace and Friendship Stadium experience, offering assistance, organization and smiles to young and older fans in every game and every social or celebratory event.

Olympiacos continues building an open, humane and active community, where sports is a universal right; and we are together in it. Stay tuned for our next activities!
