Peters on Barcelona: «It doesn't have so much to do with tactics, as with being physical»

Olympiacos is playing against Barcelona on the road for the 15th round of the EuroLeague and Alec Peters, talked to olympiacosbc.gr right after the team's latest practice session about the big game and more.

The American forward talked about the upcoming game, the critical details that will decide the win, while he also commented on this new teammate Monte Morris, with who they had participated the same basketball camp in the States when they were subsequently selected in the 2017 draft.

What do you think about this season's Barca?

«They are a team with many experienced players and they are dangerous every time, especially in their home court. We have to give our best and show things we haven't shown up to now».

What are the things Olympiacos must definitely do to win?

«I can't say much, because I will be giving up the game plan. It has to do with us, with how physical we get to be. With things that aren't that much about tactics, but with being physical and dominating the post in defense. With being ready».

Olympiacos announced yesterday the signing of Monte Morris. How well do you know him?

«I had played with him in a Basketball Camp during my senior season in college, 9 years ago. But at the same time, I had always appreciated him because that was a camp that put me in the spotlight during my final eligibility season to get drafted in the NBA, so I'm not sure if he remembers all that well, but I have had a very good connection with Monte since that time».

In what ways do you think he will be able to help Olympiacos?

«He's a guy who doesn't do mistakes. In all his career, he has been a master of the assist/turnovers ratio. He knows how to handle the ball and make plays, without messing up and that's obviously a very well appreciated skill».

Do you want to send a message to the Olympiacos fans? More than 250 of them are going to be at the game in Barcelona.

«We really value the fact that they are there to support us each time we are on the road. It's really important for us and it's a blessing to play on the road with so much support by your side. It's a wonderful experience every time».
