Bartzokas: «Very serious for 40 minutes»
Immediately after our emphatic victory over Partizan, Giorgos Bartzokas spoke at the press conference at Hala Pionir.
In his opening remarks about the game, our team’s head coach stated: “We were very serious for 40 minutes. Especially the second and third quarters were very good for us. We shared the ball and had many assists. Every player who played recorded at least one assist, and some of them had more. When we shared the ball, we had more scorers. For us, it was important to finish the game with respect for Partizan and not stop playing in the third quarter. I think we were very good against a Partizan team that is struggling psychologically. They have good players and a good coach, and they need to find a way to play much better than they did today.”
Then, when asked about Vezenkov’s performance and the many assists he received from his teammates, Giorgos Bartzokas commented: “Over the past month we have been playing much better because many players have returned. Now we just lost Monte Morris, and Tyrique Jones couldn’t play, while I didn’t use McKissic because he had only had one practice after three months. We believe in our roster; we have a deep roster and very good players. If we play together, we believe we are a very strong and dangerous team for any opponent. Sasha is Sasha. He doesn’t want to dribble the ball much, but he moves excellently, is an excellent shooter and a very good rebounder, and he has that feel for the game which is pure talent. He just needs a system around him, and with this ball movement he shows what kind of player he is.”
