Honoring the Presidents

A particularly significant honorary distinction was awarded to the Presidents of Olympiacos BC, Panagiotis and Giorgos Angelopoulos, during the central event of the Hellenic Cancer Society for the World Cancer Day.

The event was held with great success on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, in the historic hall of the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), under the central message “Bridging Care, Equal Access to Life.”

A highlight of the evening was the honoring the Olympiacos' Presidents for their important social contribution and their substantial, longstanding support of the Smoke Free Greece Initiative, which aims at prevention and the protection of public health.

The honorary plaques were presented by the Head of the Initiative, Professor Panagiotis Behrakis, who publicly recognized their consistent stance and ongoing support in the fight for a smoke-free Greece.
