«I’ve got heart…»

Kyle Hines is the first acquisition of Olympiacos for the season. The American center who has played against the ‘reds’ during last season’s Euroleague, spoke to www.olympiacosbc.gr for the new chapter in his career…

“I’m very excited about his deal. Olympiacos has tradition, history and is a big name. It’s a great opportunity for me and at the same time a dream come true” the 25year old center said at first and went on commenting with more details about his new team: “Last season I played against Olympiacos and I saw the atmosphere in the gym. I also know the big rivalry in Greece between Olympiacos and Panathinaikos and I know there have been quite a few changes with all the teams this season. Our goals don’t change however. There may be not too great names with Olympiacos this season, but we are going to have a tough teams and we’ll be covering for one another”.

Hines gave extra emphasis on two different names with Olympiacos, Vassilis Spanoulis and Dusan Ivkovic: “I’m coming to the team to become the shield for Vassilis. To get him screens and make his life easier. Whoever messes with him, will have to deal with me. He’s a great player, one of the best in Europe and I’m really very excited to be playing for coach Ivkovic, who is a living legend. I believe I’ve got lots to learn from him and I’ll do the best I can to prove him right for choosing me”.

Finally, the 25year old center answered to all those who think he’s too short to defend the basket: “In my entire career, I’ve been listening to the same thing. I’m fast, I jump high, I play strong, and above all, I’ve got heart. Nothing has been given to me so far”.
