The members of the Olympiacos delegation in Istanbul experienced a unique moment, when together with the co-owner of the Club, Mr. Giorgos Angelopouylos, the team paid a visit to the Ecumenical Patriarchy and received the blessings of the Patriarch Mr. Vartholomaos.

The whole delegation was originally shown to the St. George church, which has been renovated due to a donation made by the late Panagiotis Angelopoulos and the family and next, paid a visit to the Patriarch in the throne room of the Ecumenical Patriarchy, which was thoroughly built on the family expenditure.

The “reds” saw the photo and bust of the late Panagiotis Angelopoulos and were informed of the site history before the met in person with Mr. Vartholomaos.
