Bartzokas: “Only victory”

Olympiacos is traveling to Istanbul with the sole purpose of winning the game against Fenerbahce/Ulker on Friday (29/3), as stated by Giorgos Bartzokas and Josh Powell.

GIORGOS BARTZOKAS: “We cannot start doing math. That’s why we need two victories in the two remaining games. We have Giorgos Printezis with us who hadn’t played in the last game against Maccabi nor against Siena. We are a better team and if we prove this on the floor we are going to win. Fenerbahce/Ulker is a talented team and they have a quality roster, but we need to stay focused and persist in all 40 minutes of the game. They may not have a motive since they have been already disqualified, but we need to concentrate for 40 minutes and win. Injuries are a part of the game; with the new TOP-16 format all teams face them due to the many trips and the continuous games. But we have to play with those present. Otherwise, we should have quit following Mantzaris’ injury. Fenerbahce/Ulker ranks first in the Turkish League, they will not continue in the Euroleauge play-offs and the media says that it may be that Bogdanovic plays or Andersen doesn’t. We have to try and guard Mac Caleb, since everything starts from him. They are a team with potential but a lot of weaknesses as well.”


JOSH POWELL: “When we play well we are one of the best teams in Europe. We have to remain concentrated in defense. Do what we have to do to get the victory which we really need. We need to stay focused on both ends of the floor and play the way Olympiacos is used to do. If we play this way then we are not going to have any problems”.
