Bartzokas: “Games in Malaga are always difficult”
Olympiacos plays against Unicaja in Malaga on Thursday (27/3, 20:45 CET) for the 12th day of the Euroleague TOP-16 and Giorgos Bartzokas and Dimitris Katsivelis underline the critical nature and the difficulties of the game against the Spaniards.
“We are still hurting due to absences and we are once again not having Giorgos (Printezis) and Stratos (Perperoglou) with us. It’s always difficult to win in Malaga. We are used to injuries from the beginning of the season and try not to think about it. We are playing in a tough home court, against an experienced team and we have to control the rebounds and the rhythm if we want to win. Every team is tested when the situation is tough and has to manage. If Caner-Medley does not play, then it’s going to be an important problem for them and I also hear that maybe Vidal won’t be playing as well. But we are going to have to wait and see what happens because you know that these things change all the time. We have to enjoy our participation since we are playing for a competition that celebrates civility” the Greek coach of the European Champions originally said.
Then the Olympiacos coach was asked about Bobby Brown and said that “agents have been sending us a lot of offers due to the many injuries faced during the season. Olympiacos has been receiving player offers the whole season. At the moment we are not negotiating with any player. Whatever else is just misleading us in the effort we’ve been making and it’s a very important one”.
Dimitris Katsivelis stressed on his part that “Unicaja is a team that brings a lot of energy on the floor. They go after offensive rebounds all the time, which is their big weapon. We are going to also bring energy, make the right choices in offense, bring energy through our defense and give 100%. Any player that comes from the bench has to bring more energy, especially in the defensive part and help in offense as much as he can”.
