P. Angelopoulos: “We kept our calm”

Olympiacos bested Panathinaikos Supefoods and one of the two owners of the Greek Champions, Mr. Panagiotis Angelopoulos, talked about the great victory in OAKA.

"The important thing is that it was a significant Euroleague game. It was on the road, despite getting here by bus, for example Turkish teams have to play 12 games abroad out of 15, we practically have to play 14. Now, Olympiacos has a good team and a good psychology apart from having Spanoulis, Panathinaikos made some great threes, they took the lead, we kept our cool. In the last play, I simply shifted my position so I could watch the play. Giving the foul to Calathes was a risk according to you, you were probably wrong. It's always a risk, if the player makes both of his free throws, but you cannot win without taking risks", was what Panagiotis Angelopoulos had to say at first.

Then, Mr. Angelopoulos was asked about the different psychology the Olympiacos players now have when playing in OAKA "If you are talking about Euroleague games, we have only played one more game here. First of all, the agents of the game are different, we have different refs. It's another thing to play with foreign refs and another to play with Greeks. The refs tonight warned they were going to stop the game four times, it's a good thing they didn't. But you are right; the psychology is different by now. We have a 5-3 record and we are going to make it 6-3 next Thursday".

Asked on whether this victory is even more important given that OAKA is a tough court, Mr. Angelopoulos said that "you are right on that aspect, it will be very difficult for other teams to come here and win".
