«We need to be vigilant»

Olympiacos hosts Andolu Efes on Friday (21/4, 20:00 CET) for the second quarter final of the Euroleague play-offs and Giannis Sfairopoulos and Ioannis Papapetrou got to talk about the game against the Turkish team.

"We need to see a better game from everyone. As I said last night, we need to correct a lot of things. I think we played a good game, but not as good as it could have been. We expect Efes to react, what we saw last night does not reflect their true value and potential, so we need to be better to cope. There are things we keep from the first game, but also others that we need to change", the Greek coach said at first.

Asked on whether there is more pressure on Efes or on his team, following the 1-0, the answer was that "there is always pressure. For both teams, because they both want to make the Final Four. Actually, all eight teams that are now playing the play-offs want to go to the Final Four, so there is pressure on all of them. We won the game, but it's only 1-0, the second game is going to be totally different, if we keep looking at this 'tree' we are going to miss the forest ahead of us".

As to what needs to change in regard to the first game "The team has been working the best we can. Some things are brought to the floor and some not. The players were really focused, I hope they focus even more and our goal is to play even better. Efes of the first game is not the real Efes, that's not their potential. They will be coming to get the game, we are expecting that and we need to be ready not to be surprised".

IOANNIS PAPAPETROU: "We need to forget what happened last night, we need to prepare as if this is the last game of the season. We need to give it all, because each game is different. We need to be playing hard, impose the rhythm from the beginning, and I do believe we can play even better. We can improve a lot and I think they are also going to be better. They are going to give all they have, I'm sure about it".
