Supporting the kids

Olympiacos BC, through a series of actions by means of the "LET's DO IT" Social Awareness Program, delivered the first amount of money gathered by the fans during the Greek League games in the presence of schools and organizations that actively contributed towards that goal!

The program aims, among others to support equal opportunities for all kids so that they have equal opportunities to education and life.

The "LET's DO IT" piggy bags that were placed at the entrances and the ticket booths of the Peace and Friendship Stadium, where fans were placing money donated as a token of love and compassion, "gathered" the amount of 2,455 euro during this season's Greek League games.

The money were delivered today to the Special Skills Educational Lab of St. Demetrius, the school where the Euroleague ONE TEAM program was implemented during the past two years (2013-2015). Two hundred and thirty teen age students aged 13 to 20 years with mental and physical disorders and autism make up for the schools alumni.

The school has decided to use the money to cover for improving school facilities like remodeling the yard in order for the students to be able to use proper benches when eating, buying speed-heaters for the ceramics and cooking classes and revamping a room as to be able to properly host students that suffer from severe disabilities and finally on buying teaching materials.

Kostas Papanikolaou represented the team in handing the money to the President of the School Committee Mr. Charalampos Bellos, in the presence of the schools Director Mr. Spyros Kontarakis and the Mayor of St. Demetrius Ms. Maria Androutsou.
