ΜcLean: «Ready to work for the good of the team»

Jamel McLean arrived at Greece on Thursday (July 20) so as to pass the necessary physical and talked to the media about the new chapter in his career.

Jamel McLean was asked at first whether he had expected to be the Piraeus team choice following the departure of Khem Birch. The American center answered "I don't know what happened with Birch, but Olympiacos picked me and these were good news to me. Each decision is difficult, but this is the best situation I could be in. Olympiacos has a very good system, very good atmosphere and a very good team. I talked with the coach on the phone for 30 minutes about my role on the team. I'm ready to work and trust the system of the team. The Olympiacos fans are smart; you could tell watching the Euroleague games. They know and understand what happened during previous years and I always say I should do what I can. I don't like setting expectations. The organization put their trust in me to do the things I can and I want to continue playing like I'm used to be doing".

As for his collaboration with Vassilis Spanoulis, McLean explained that "we played against each other for years. It's going to be nice to play by his side. He has won many games and titles. It's going to be nice to be team mates".
