McLean: "We are ready"

Olympiacos is at Heraklion since Tuesday morning (October 10). The ‘reds’ traveled to Crete for the Thursday game (12/10, 20:00 CET) against Baskonia for the Euroleague premiere, without Vasilis Spanoulis and Nikos Arsenopoulos.  

“We are ready for our first European game” Jamel McLean stated. “I’m excited. We’ve been preparing for this since summer, time has gone by, the games are here, it’s time for basketball. Baskonia is a good team and to get the result we want, we need to remain completely focused throughout the game”.

The “Two Aorakia” gym, where the game is going to be taking place, is a familiar environment for the American forward/center and his team mates. “We had recently been here for a tournament. The fans had come and supported us at the time. I hope they do the same at the game against Baskonia. I hope the gym is full and the fans create a beautiful atmosphere”.
Finally, questioned about the defeat in the STOIXIMAN.GR Basket League, he replied : “It’s still very early. Nothing is lost and nothing would have been won… What we need to do is to continue working hard, become better. The season is very long, we have a lot of enthusiasm, we have a good team and we will continue looking forward”.
