A friend from days past!

In the premiere of her come back to the biggest European club competition, Villeurbanne was set to face off against an old acquaintance, Olympiacos, with who she meets again after a whole 15 years!

Τhe brightest star: No matter how strange it may sound, the great star of Villeurbanne is its current owner and President, Tony Parker! The four time NBA Champion with the San Antonio Spurs and holder of four medals with the National team of France (Golden in the 2013 Eurobasket, silver in the 2011 Eurobasket, bronze in the 2005 and 2015 Eurobaskets), took over the team when he was still active as a player. Since he officially got to retire from the National team of France, he has been engaged in establishing Villeurbanne as a serious Euroleague contender. He has Nikola Batum as a close associate in this endeavor.

I have seen you somewhere: Andreian Payne has been twice in Greece, both times for Panathinaikos. From February 2018 through the end of the 2017-18 season and from January 2019 till the end of the 2018-19 one, he got to play with wearing the green jersey.

• Will Cherry and Jordan Taylor had been team mates while with Alba Berlin during the 2015-16 season. During the same season, Mindaugas Kuzminskas Edwin Jackson had been team mates in Malaga. As for Jackson, he had also been team mates with Sasha Vezenkov, during the 2017-18 season in Barcelona.
• Wade Baldwin, Ethan Happ and Kevin Punter will be making the debut with the Euroleague. Contrary to the guests, for who only four players have played for the top Club competition in the past, i.e. Edwin Jackson, Antoine Diot, David Lighty and Andreian Payne.
