Aiming for the big come back

The European Champion of 2014 has not made a single Final Four tournament for five years now! During the 2014-15 the play-offs were the last stage of their participation, while in the last four seasons, the competition for them ended together with the end of the regular season. However, with Giannis Sfairopoulos in the bench, they aim for big come back.

Maccabi Tel Aviv began this season's Euroleague with two losses (on the road against Khimki 89-83 and Real Madrid 86-85), but they have won three back to back games ever since. The People's team won at home against Crvenza Zvezda (84-69), Valencia (76-63) and Fenerbahce (67-55).   

Τhe brightest star: Scottie Wilbekin! The American guard - that also has a Turkish passport - is the locomotive of Maccabi's game. He creates, scores, 'steals', or commonly is a 'Jack of all trades'!

I know you from someplace: Maccabi Tel Aviv's coach, Giannis Sfairopoulos, has written his own history with Olympiacos. He was an assistant coach with the 'reds' staff from 2005 till 2008, while he led the team to win two back to back Greek League championships as a head coach (2014-15, 2015-16). A player that has played with our jersey is also on Maccabi's roster. The word is about Othello Hunter, who came to Greece for the first time in 2010 for Ilysiakos, while he joined the roster of Olympiacos in the 2014-15 season winning the Greek League. There are also more connections to Greece… Tyler Dorsey is a member of the Greek National team, Scottie Wilbekin signed with AEK in 2015 and Jake Cohen played for Aris in the 2015-16 season.
