Statements by Ellis and Martin (pics+vid)
Octavius Ellis and Hasan Martin arrived in Greece Thursday evening (August 6).
Octavius Ellis stressed: “I want to be always getting better. I want to better learn the coach’s systems. I joined the team in the second part of the season last year, so I believe I will be able to adjust to the Euroleague much better compared to how I did last season. I will be listening and doing whatever my coach asks me to, I will be listening to the players that have been here for a long time so as to be better. The goal is to win as many games as possible. We made a strong finish in the previous season, but due to the special circumstances that came up the League was permanently suspended. I think we have a very good team and the most important thing is for all of us to stay healthy”.
Hasan Martin stated: “I’m excited to be in Greece. I received a lot of messages from the fans of the team. They were telling me I’m a beast and they were really happy with my transfer here. I received a lot of support and love from them and all of that made me even more anxious about the upcoming season”.
Asked whether he has seen the new jerseys, he replied: “Yes, I saw them! The black uniform is lit! It’s my favorite”.
When asked to frame the goals for the upcoming season, he said: “Qualifying for the playoffs, winning the trophy obviously… However, first of all we need to enjoy our course, win as many games as possible and I hope that our fans enjoy us as well”.
Finally, when asked to send a message to the fans, he said: “If they are allowed to be at the gym, I would ask them to make as much noise as possible. And I promise I’ll be excited and ready for a great season”.
