Dorsey: «For me, the goal is always to win»
Tyler Dorsey is in Greece since Tuesday morning (24/08). The Greek-American guard will be traveling to Bulgaria tomorrow (25/08) to get incorporated in our team’s pre-season camp.
“I’m happy I will be playing in Greece. It’s a blessing. I’m excited!”, the ‘red’s guard said upon arrival. “It’s a new beginning for me. I’m thrilled to get to know the coaches, the staff, everyone! I’ve worked hard the whole summer and I believe it’s going to be an exciting season”.
When asked to comment on the roundup of the Olympiacos’ roster, he said: “I feel good with this roster. We have a lot of new pieces and a lot of talent to work with. What we need to do now is put the pieces together and ‘glue them’. I’m looking forward to meeting my team mates and building a good relationship with the coaches and everyone else”.
Asked about his personal ambitions, as well as his goals with his new team, he replied: “For me, the goal is always to win. I did not make the playoffs last season, neither did Olympiacos, so that’s the goal… To have a good season. But we need to take one step at a time, one day at a time, week by week, we need to work hard and continue moving forward so that we can be ready when the Euroleague begins”.
As for what it was to make him say yes to the offer the Piraeus team made him, he said: “Greece is my second home. I was excited by the prospect, it’s a great opportunity for me. They wanted me here and I want to be going where I’m wanted. Like I said, it’s a great opportunity for me”. And he concluded as follows: “I have worked throughout the summer and I generally try to get better with each passing year, so I’m going to see how do I fit with team and add some of my elements. I will be trying to improve at all times. I want to mature as a player and be better than how I had been last season with the Euroleague”.
