P.Αngelopoulos: «An important initiative»

The Olympiacos BC President, Mr. Panagiotis Angelopoulos, who was honored for the team’s part in the purchase of a fire truck for Evoia at the backdrop of the game, talked about the importance of the friendly match up as well as his take on his team in view of the upcoming season.

 “Today’s friendly game was an important initiative. We wanted to help Evoia with the revenue and the donations by the two teams. I believe it’s good to have games that also serve a purpose. We were informed by Ionikos and the AHEP MARITIME CHAPTER ST. NICHOLAS about this idea and we immediately said ‘yes’ without giving it a second thought”.

Asked whether there are going to be similar actions by Olympiacos BC, given the «bwin Monday Night Game Against Covid-19» held last season, while the «bwin TOURNAMENT AGAINST COVID-19» is going to be taking place on Septe,ber 4 and 5, he replied: «This season, Mondays will be League game days, but we always support charity actions and whenever Greece needs it, we are going to be there».

Finally, when asked to make a comment on this season’s team, he said: «It’s very strong. It’s going to be a long season, with a lot of games. I think we are going to do fine. I see athleticism, height and good players».
