The statements by Bartzokas and Dorsey

The Olympiacos’ coach, Giorgos Bartzokas, passed credit to his players, aired his complaints about their turnovers during the last minutes of the game and asked that they completely focus on their next game against Barcelona.

“Congratulations to our team. We pretty easily won a game, that before playing it, never in any way did we underestimate it. We played a very intense game on Friday and today we needed to be serious about the game. We did that, we imposed our style of playing, especially in the third quarter, when we scored 39 points. At the end though we relaxed and made too many turnovers. If I have to accept that the great score difference allowed for those, then OK. However, not having time to practice, our team needs to be playing well in all forty minutes of a game. I have great respect for the team of Lavrio, they are competitive, they have a very unique style of playing, they are very good at iso offenses and you need to be moving the ball fast when in defense, because they all switch at screens and you need to find where the mismatch is. I don’t think we need to be saying anything more about the game. We need to focus on the next one which is important for us”.

On his part, the Greek – American guard, Tyler Dorsey, pointed out: “We had difficulties in the first half. We let our opponents take the game where they wanted it to go. They scored rather plenty. However, we recovered in the second half, took control, played good defense, moved the ball correctly and finished the job”.
