Bartzokas: «We were determined» (vid)

Giorgos Bartzokas determined that easy victory over Maccabi Tel Aviv came thanks to his players’ determination.

“Following the tough loss to Efes, two days later we recovered. We were determined from minute one. Our performance in the first quarter was really good on both ends of the floor. We set the tone in this game and were determined to win. Congratulations once again to our players and our fans. We played a serious game and deserved the win”.  

On his part, the coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv, Giannis Sfairopoulos, stated: “It was a tough evening for us. We made a very bad start. It was obvious that we came in without concentration, but also without energy. We could not match up with Olympiacos’ fast pace. When you start the first quarter that badly and you are not mentally ready to play such a tough game, it’s very hard to make a later come back in the game. We played a lot of games this week and the game against Monaco demanded a lot of energy to win. We lacked both energy and focus. When you are not fresh physically, then your spirit cannot also cope. We tried to fight during the next three quarters, however, the difference was so big that we just couldn’t do anything better. It was one of those nights when nothing works”.
