Bartzokas: «We are now focusing on the Greek Cup»
The coach of Olympiacos, Giorgos Bartzokas had enough to complain about in terms of his players’ performance during the first half of the game against Lavrio.
“We made no effort to win in the first half. We thought we were going to do that by simply walking on the floor… When we realized what was going on, we had a good second half in accordance to the demands of the particular game and the particular time frame for us. I acknowledge we have had a very demanding game against Efes and we are coming from a heavy schedule, but that’s also why we opened up the rotation, to play a certain style of game, which as you can understand, we only managed to do in the second half that we won 60-18. I think we don’t need to say anything more about the game. Congratulations to Lavrio and all the best for the rest of the League games. We are now focusing on the Greek Cup games”.
On his part, the coach of Lavrio, Christos Serelis, pointed out: “It was a game that cannot stand to a lot of criticism. We thought in the first half that maybe Olympiacos would be kind of destructed by the Greek Final Four and we tried to be a little more competitive, put some pressure on the ball, insert a few new things in our offense in view of the next League games. I would say that that part went kind of well. But in the second half, we were completely unable to follow the tempo set by Olympiacos. We were really bad and this heavy loss came upon us”.
