Bartzokas: «The game does not call for analysis»
The coach of Olympiacos, Giorgos Bartzokas, stated the following after the win over Aris at the SEF…
“I don’t think we need to be analyzing tonight’s game. Aris came here missing players, with not enough numbers in their roster. Nevertheless, they tried and the deserve to be congratulated on that. They played according to their demonstrated philosophy, they are combative, they attack the ball and you need to move it correctly and fast enough so as to find paths to the basket. When we did that, the game difference went above 25 points. In general, there was a problem with our approach, seeing how Aris lined up, which is only normal in theory. Walkup and Lountzis made a big effort in defense and they tried to play with intensity so they deserve a bit more credit for the win than everyone else”.
On his part, the coach of Aris, Giorgos Kastritis, said: “We understand that the roster we lined up would now allow for a lot in the game. We knew that we play against one of the best teams in Europe, that is also entering a moment in the season when goals are decided, which means they try for the max in their performance. I think my players made a good effort for as long as they were able to, for as long as they had the strength to do so”.
