Papanikolaou: "Everyone together like a fist"

Olympiacos will be hosting Monaco at the SEF tomorrow (20/04, 20.00 CET) – for the first game of the Euroleague playoffs – and as Kostas Papanikolaou stressed: “We are all going to be in red!” #OLYKOKKINA

“It is imperative that we show our will and determinations as a team in our home”, the ‘reds’ forward pointed out. “Especially tomorrow that we have the first game, which for is the most important one, since we have with determination and our dynamic make the opponent feel that they stand no chance. That we are the ones to have the upper hand and we are the ones to decide the series. Here, at the point we are at in the season, for me the key is this. There are not too many hidden aces the coaches have. That’s why I think that desire, determination and the mental readiness of each one of us is going to be key”.  

He said about Monaco: “They are a team with offensive talent. It’s not just James. They have also other guys that can hurt you at any moment. It’s certain that James is a charismatic player, however, you cannot focus on any one player in games like that and leave everyone else off the equation. Monaco deserves to be where they are and many different elements have contributed to that”.

As for the fans and the sold out for the first game, he said: “Tomorrow everyone is going to be in red! We are waiting for them, so that together, like a fist, we can ‘push’ the team towards another final four”.
