Bartzokas: «That was a lesson for all of us»

One day after the loss to Anadolu Efes, our team’s coach, Giorgos Bartzokas gave praise to the Olympiacos’ fans and … scolded Sasha Vezenkov.

“Experience is something you acquire after a tough night. Let’s hope this is going to help us in the future. I think that it was a lesson for all of use because we played based on our feelings in the last crucial part of the game”, he said and continued: “I can’t criticize anyone else but Sasha, because he said it was his fault. We all lose together and we all win together. There are thousands of hours or work and professionalism here and we can’t say that anyone is to be blamed individually for a couple of shots or fouls. Our whole team is at fault and our whole team brought us here”.

About the incredible atmosphere the fans created, he said: “I don’t have words, I don’t think this has ever happened before with any team sports, that is for 12,000 fans to travel. What happened was fantastic and our team earned that support with the way they played throughout the season. I’m sad we will not get to play a final together, but I promise that Olympiacos will anyway be at a high level in the years to come”.
