Bartzokas: "We were patient"

The coach of Olympiacos, Giorgos Bartzokas commented the following in regard to his team’s win against Promitheas and the qualification to the Super Cup final.

“We were patient as to impose our rhythm. We have had 28 assists and 6 turnovers, so it was difficult to feel threatened. We had a normal percentage of twos and threes and since we have had good facilitation and our defense had been efficient in the second half, the score opened up and we had the chance not to push a lot of players but rather evenly allocate minutes. We have to improve some things in regard to our tactics. It’s still early and we shall have to do it”.

The Olympiacos’ forward, Alec Peters, stressed: “These games are never easy. Our attitude towards the Super Cup game was that of playing a significant game and not as a pre-season one. It’s an important start in the season. We need to be ready for these games. Tonight there have moments when we showed our potential as a team. There are some mistakes we need to fix. We have one more game tomorrow and we need to focus and be ready for a game that decides a title”.
