Peters: «We are ready to fight» (vid)

Alec Peters, Olympiacos’ American forward, appeared to be anxious and ready for the battle against Zalgiris (14/10, 20:00 CET).

“It’s very nice that we are finally playing a home game. We are looking forward to it, despite unfortunately not being able to have our fans here. We can’t wait for a home game. It’s going to be a tough match. There’s going to be a battle we are ready for”.

Asked if he feels unlucky for the fact that the fans will be absent from the first home game of the ‘red & white’ in the season (due to the home court being punished), he replied: “There are two aspects to it… It’s obvious that when the fans are going to be by our side, the atmosphere is going to be worth it. However, maybe it’s a good thing for some of us new guys here to have a game without the presence of the fans, so that we get acclimated to the arena, before the noisy atmosphere comes in. It’s definitely going to be wonderful when we finally get to have the fans to support us”.

Finally, on whether it means something that Olympiacos is coming from a road win in Barcelona, while Zalgiris from a defeat in Israel, he commented: “We should be focusing on each one game separately. We can’t be thinking that last week’s success is going to be helping us into the next one. We have to focus, we have to play hard in defense and also keep in mind that rebounds are going to be an important factor”.
