Unstoppable!
Olympiacos beat Peristeri bwin 101-79, for the 2nd day of the Bakset League, remained undefeated and is now getting ready for a double Euroleague games week in Spain against Real Madrid and Baskonia.
Tragic percentages from the three point line and back to back turnovers, forced our team to ‘trail’ the score at the beginning of the game (6-11 at 6’ and 11-15 at 8’). A good defensive game and a 7-0 run, allowed Olympiacos to lead for the first time in the game 18-15 at the end of the first quarter, while following the same tactics combined with better perimeter percentages, gave our the chance to impose the tempo and build a 14p. difference (36-22 at 15’). Peristeri tried to return to the game (38-30 at 17’), but Sloukas, Vezenkov and Larentzakis took it upon them to run the offense and hence the ‘red & white’ closed the first half at +13 (50-37).
The game outlook did not change into the 3rd quarter… Led by Kostas Sloukas, Olympiacos not only consistently maintained complete control, but also widened the distance (+18, 74-56 at 30’). The international guard refused to slow down and with him at the driver’s seat, the ‘red & white’ found themselves at +23 (98-75 at 38’) and getting an eventually easy victory (101-79).
Οlympiacos and bwin honored V-Span
Before the game tip-off, the Presidents of Olympiacos BC, Panagiotis and Giorgos Angelopoulos and our mega sponsor, bwin, represented by its Corporate Communications Director, Ioanna Beriou, paid tribute to Vassilis Spanoulis in regard to his contribution to Olympiacos!
As expected, the coach of Peristeri bwin received apotheosis by the red & whites’ fans!
The quarters: 18-15, 50-37, 74-56, 101-79.
