Peters: «Bayern is a tough team»

Olympiacos will be playing against Bayern in Munich tomorrow (17/11, 20.30 CET) and Alec Peters believes that the ‘red & whites’ can maintain their invincible record on the road.

“It was good to be at home, but now it’s time we get back on the road. I think we are ready to build on the wins we have made on the road. Bayern is a tough team and they are coming from two back to back wins. It’s going to be a hard game for us”.

Asked whether the mini break in the Greek League is going to have a negative impact on him and his team-mates, he replied: “Sometimes you need a small break, so as to practice and physically recover or take advantage of the weekend and do whatever it takes to succeed. I think we have done that and we are ready for yet another busy time in the season”.

When asked to comment on the fact that the preparation of the team took place in the absence of three internationals, he said: “I know that many people talk about the schedule and the whole situation between FIBA and the Euroleague. But no matter what, we have to go and play the game against Bayern. Most teams are in the same or in a similar situation, so there are no excuses. We have to go and play our game and I’m sure my team-mates are going to be adjusting really soon”.

Finally, he revealed what Papanikolaou, Larentzakis and Lountzis can expect when they meet with the rest of the team in Munich. “A huge hug and congratulations! I really loved watching it, I’m really happy for them and I can’t wait to watch them playing the Mundobasket next year”.
