Peters: «Tough and with energy» (vid)
What the ‘red & whites’ are looking for in the game against Panathinaikos at the OAKA tomorrow (30/12, 20.00 CET), according to Alec Peters, is a restart in Europe!
“Just like everyone else, I’m also excited. It’s going to be one more memorable game, just like the one we played here. I hope we are going to do an incredible job and return to winning, just like when we began our Euroleague season”, was what the American forward got to stress.
And he went on to say: “O think it’s going to be a tough game. Given the game, the fact that it’s a derby, the fact that it’s Panathinaikos vs Olympiacos, I think that toughness and energy are going 100% to be the key. If we don’t have them, especially in their home, it’s going to be difficult for us. However, judging from this week’s practices, I feel we are ready”.
Giorgos Bartzokas said Bacon to be a regulating player for Panathinaikos’ game, and Alec Peters , who might be called to stop him at some point in the game, couldn’t agree more with his coach. “It’s a group effort. Especially when you have to deal with a player like Bacon. He’s obviously talented, he has proven that with the Euroleague, he’s consistent and despite that sometimes he doesn’t make ideal beginnings, he always finishes his games in an amazing fashion. It’s going to be a group effort, no matter if I get to guard him or it is someone else. It’s going to take five of us to be sure we did a good job”.
“Finally, on whether he feel ready to play and about Sasha Vezenkov, who is likely to miss the game due to injury, he said: “It’s the best job in the world and I’m always ready to play. I’m ready to come in and train right now. That’s how I always approach every day and this job. I love this. I love working with my coaches and my team mates. So, it’s not hard for me to come in and be ready to play”.
