Bartzokas: «Congratulations to the players»

The Olympiacos coach, Giorgos Bartzokas, talked about the winning record of the ‘red & whites’ following the win over Panathinaikos.

“Congratulations to the players for the win. 23 wins are a team record. We have been consistent throughout the season. Tonight we got to win despite having 17% in threes, while we also missed 10 free throws, and all of that playing at home. We have had many assist, we missed a lot of open threes. It was obvious we had been nervous in the first half, but it took us only a few minutes of basketball played at our standards to set the tempo about how we wanted the game to be played. Congratulations to Panathinaikos and good luck”

On his part, the coach of Panathinaikos, Christos Serelis, pointed out: “It was a tough game for forty minutes. I think we lost the details and some mistakes we made with our defense cost us. Also, we had asked from some players to take certain shots, but they seemed hesitant and did not take them. It’s the second game we played against Olympiacos and proved to have gotten better. With our full roster we are going to be much more competitive in the Greek League, that is now our only goal”.
