Euroleague announced Sasha Vezenkov being the season MVP in a very unique fashion!

They …lured him in a studio full of fans that were wearing face masks depicting him, with the pretense of an interview and his parents and sister that were also there surprised him with the happy news!

“I’m very, very happy! I would like to thank the Presidents of Olympiacos, Mr. Panagiotis and Mr. Giorgos Angelpoulos, the coach, the whole coaching staff, all of my team mates, but also all those working behind the scenes and help us every day and are always there for us. I’m very happy that my team is at the final four. I’m truly happy for everything!” he said talking to the OlympiacosBC TV.

He continued talking about the surprise by the organizers. “It was a very beautiful feeling. My family is the reason I’m here today. They have taught me everything and although I hadn’t caught on, I thank them for taking this trip earlier to be here with me today”.

Asked if he had gotten anxious about Euroleague delaying to announce the MVP, he replied: “I wasn’t anxious because I wasn’t thinking about it. We have had a very difficult playoff series with Fener, so I got rested, I got to work and whatever was to happen, it would happen eventually… And it did!”

He got to finish his statements with a wish… “I hope that upon returning we are going to be carrying the big trophy. That’s why we came here and that’s what we will be fighting for”.
