Bartzokas: «We will fight for the club and our fans»

The coach of Olympiacos, Giorgos Bartzokas, repeated during the final’s Press Conference, that he and his players will fight to win the trophy, for the club and their fans!

“We are proud and feel honored as a team to be in the final and to be able to fight at this level. We know how difficult it was to make it to here. I spoke with Mateo about how difficult it’s been getting each year to survive difficult situations and make the final. I believe there is no failure for any of the teams that made it to come here, they’ve all had successful seasons. Since we are here though, we want to take one more step. In the final, we will fight for every possession, we will fight as a team for the club and the fans that support us. Real is a fantastic opponent, which lots of experience. We will try to give our best”.

Asked about the players Real Madrid is missing right now, he replied: “They are a club that is capable of making the final despite the absences. The way they played last night or during the series with Partizan and the way they won showcases their potential, their knowledge and their talent”.

Finally, he talked with an obvious sense of humor about an incident that occurred during the semifinal against Monaco: “I heard yesterday someone behind the bench calling me to wake up, they obviously thought I was asleep. Thankfully I woke up at halftime and we won! That’s basketball, managing your emotions is hard for the fans, all the more so for the players. I hope we are ready to pull this through tomorrow”.
