Sikma: «Can’t wait to get to work»

Luke Sikma arrived in Greece tonight (17/08) for Olympiacos and said to be ready to give 100% so that his team achieves its goals!

“I feel fine! I’m excited to be here and being incorporated with the team. It’s going to be wonderful here and I can’t wait to get to work and see what happens this season”.

When asked how he feels for being selected to cover the void left by last season’s Euroleague MVP, Sasha Vezenkov, he replied: “Sasha’s shoes are big to fill. He’s a great player and he has offered a lot to the team. However, it’s not necessary that I ‘fill’ his shoes, I’m a different player and I came here to do what I know and what I can so that the team wins. That’s always the goal”.

He later admitted that Olympiacos is a step upwards for his career. “It’s a step upwards, in the sense that there are big expectations. Olympiacos always fights to win the title. So, the challenge is big, I’m looking forward to it and I’m excited”.

Finally, he did not omit to send his message to the ‘red & white’ fans: “I’m really excited to be here, I’m looking forward to meeting you and play for you!”.
