Bartzokas: «We played with heart» (vid)

The Olympiacos’ coach, Giorgos Bartzokas, gave credit to his players following the win with Partizan.

“It was the last of four games we have had to play in six days, so the team was exhausted because our rotation went down to eight or nine athletes. They gave it all, they played with heart, showed their character when we were losing by 14 point and they got us back in the game. Williams-Goss played for 31 minutes and had only had practiced once with the team. Fall is also in the same situation. But, these kind of wins give boost to teams that play together and fight for every possession”.

And he went on to say: “When you are a true team, you can beat anyone. Especially when everything is against you, like what happened tonight. Smailagic scored a crazy three in front of Fall. When we were leading by three points we did not use the fouls although it was crystal clear that I had asked them to do that. It is most likely that this happened due to the fact that they were lacking focus due to the huge effort they had put in. Congratulations to the players, congratulations to our fans, the atmosphere was fantastic. Congratulations also to Partizan for playing a really good game”.
