Bartzokas: «We are happy for the win»

The coach of Olympiacos, Giorgos Bartzokas, appeared to be satisfied with the road win, while he specially commented the amazing performance of Moustapha Fall.

“It’s never easy for Olympiacos to play here. Effort is always demanded as well as concentration, and under that prism, we are happy to have won, having practically had zero practice for this game, following our return from Turkey. We are forced to have a much smaller rotation, given the special circumstances the team has been dealing with. So, we are happy to win. I would like to wish a speedy recovery to McNeace, I hope it’s not something serious and he returns soon to playing. I would also like to congratulate Fall, because he scored a triple double and showed everyone his quality as a player. Not exactly with the 10 points and the 10 rebounds, but rather with the 11 assists. Finally, I would like to wish PAOK good luck with both the Basket League and the BCL”.

Asked about what it is his team is losing and what it is it’s winning from back to back games with no time for serious practicing in between, he replied: “For some players, these games are a good opportunity to get into shape. For instance, Fall, who may be tired because he got to play 33 minutes, however, he’s coming off an injury following his return from the Mundobasket. We are the only Euroleague team that has had seven internationals. Most of them are really tired mentally. If there is something to win, is that Walkup, who is very tired, did not play many minutes. We would like to give him some time to stay off the rotation and find himself once again. I’m sure he will. From there on, Goss is gradually assimilating our style of game, Brazdeikis is slowly getting better and we hope that when everyone comes back, plus Milutinov, who will be playing against Baskonia, and also McKissic and Sikma, we are going to be able to show our real potential”.
