A triple-double and a record for Τyson Ward

Tyson Ward recorded 18 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists on Sunday afternoon (January 25) against Kolossos, becoming the 3rd player in Olympiacos’ history to register a triple-double in the Greek League.

In his first season in Piraeus, the American forward has adapted very quickly to the demanding environment of the ‘red & whites’ and, against Kolossos, he spent significant time in ‘Thomas Walkup’s shoes’, replacing him more than adequately.

Ward delivered his most complete performance wearing the Olympiacos’ jersey, setting multiple personal records. Specifically, he posted season highs across all competitions in points (18), rebounds (10), assists (10), performance index rating (33 PIR), playing time (32:33), made two-point field goals (5) and defensive rebounds (9). His triple-double was also the third in Olympiacos’ history in the Greek League.

Ward followed Alexander Volkov, who on November 19, 1994, finished the game against Ampelokipoi (129–69) with 31 points (4/6 FT, 12/24 2FG, 1/1 3FG), 13 rebounds (8 defensive, 5 offensive), 11 assists, 2 steals and 1 block in 29 minutes, as well as Moustapha Fall, who on November 6, 2023, against PAOK in Thessaloniki recorded 10 points (2/5 FT, 4/8 2FG), 10 rebounds (6 defensive, 4 offensive), 11 assists, 1 steal and 1 block in 35:33 of action.

Furthermore, this was the 12th triple-double in the history of the Greek League, with the most recent one belonging to Kevin Porter Jr. (PAOK), achieved in May 2024.

Congratulations, Tyson!
