The Night Of The Legend: The Presidents’ statements (vid)

The Presidents of Olympiacos BC, Panagiotis and Giorgos Angelopoulos, talked during “The Night of the The Legend” press conference and highlighted its great importance, not only for Vassilis Spanoulis but also for the basketball team of Olympiacos.

“Tonight is one of a kind”, Mr. Panagiotis Angelopoulos pointed out. “Both Vassilis and Olympiacos deserved it. Through this night, the whole world gets to see a few things, that maybe explain the miracles that took place during Vassilis’ era. Just like Papanikolaou has said, Vassilis’ aura is still lingering in the locker rooms and we keep fighting for the European top. The important thing is to be present and to keep fighting. I had goose bumps most of the time, because you get to reminisce about things you have experienced. Some of the best moments of our lives were the ones we got to live with Vassilis in Olympiacos and we thank him for everything he has given our team. This night is like one more title added to the arena’s sky”.

Mr. Giorgos Angelopoulos added: “Vassilis, we thank you for everything. You made us experience some of the best moments of our lives. With you leading the way, we built our Olympiacos. It became a global phenomenon against everything and everyone, we won the top of Europe and of Greece our way. With a budget at one fourth of what other teams had. We walked with Vassilis by our side, our leader and captain. Tonight is one of these great moments for us, Olympiacos and Vassilis. Our history with Vassilis, our common route, this journey has surpassed every expectation. We had thought we were going to change levels when he was about to join Olympiacos”.
