Nigel Williams-Goss, the other me 

He wore the 'red & white' for the first time during the 2018-2019 season. He returned to the port city in the summer of 2023.

Nigel Williams-Goss is no stranger to our team’s fans, but do you know what profession he would have pursued if he weren’t a basketball player? What colors would he have painted on the canvas of his life?

The American guard opens up to WeAreOlympiacos about some aspects of his other self.

If you were a cartoon character, which one would you be and why?

"I don’t watch cartoons, but I’d say Lightning McQueen from Cars, because that’s my son Naz’s favorite cartoon."

If you were an animal, which one would you be and why?
"A lion. It’s a strong animal, the king of the jungle."

If you weren't a basketball player, what profession would you pursue?
"I think I would be a real estate investor."

Village or city?

"City."

What kind of music do you like?
"Hip hop and R'n'B."

Motorcycle or car?
"Car."

Mountain or sea?
"Sea."

Do you believe in aliens?
"Not exactly."

Do you believe in astrology?
"No."

Do you believe in ghosts?
"No."

If you could change something about yourself, what would it be and why?
"I would be taller (laughs)."

If you could turn back time, would you change anything in your life?
"I would love to learn a second language. Maybe Spanish. The only language I speak fluently is English."

Are you a "mama’s boy"?
"Yes."

Three-pointer or assist?
"It’s hard, but I’d say assist."

Night out at a club or a movie at home?
"I’d say dinner, but between those two, I’d stay at home for a movie."

Tell us your craziest basketball dream.
"My craziest basketball dream is to have more Euroleague titles than any American player."

"Just enjoying every second I’m alive."

If you could choose only one song to play every time you enter a room for the rest of your life, which one would it be?
"I’d say ‘God's Plan’ by Drake."

Do you care about other people’s opinions?
"No."

When people talk about you, what would you like them to say?
"That I am humble and respectful."

When people stop you on the street and talk to you, do you feel uncomfortable?
"No."

The strangest thing that has happened to you with fans?
"A guy on a motorcycle stopped next to me at a red light and showed me a picture of his son and my son at one of the games. It was crazy."

If you could choose between flying and being invisible, which would you choose?
"I’d say flying because I love to travel."

What do you love and what do you "hate" about your job?
"I love that my job is also my hobby, because basketball started as a hobby. And I’d say that I hate... maybe that it’s not a stable job."

When you face a problem, do you ask for help or prefer to solve it on your own?
"I ask for help."

If you were a painter, what colors would you use on the "canvas" of your life?
"I would want many different colors to represent many different experiences. I would want everything. I would want bright colors, dark colors. Darkness, light, everything."

How do you imagine yourself in 10 years?
"Just spending time with my family and helping my wife raise our children."

What is your biggest fear?
"My biggest fear is not enjoying the journey of life and regretting it when I get older."

What do you think is the meaning of life?
"I’d say the meaning of life is simply trying to experience as much as possible and enjoying the relationships with the people you meet along the way."
