Played just enough to advance
In the first quarterfinal against PAOK victory came easily. In the second one in Pilea, things were not as good, but the result remained the same. Olympiacos won 68-61 and got the ticket to the play-offs semifinals.

An easy and simple 1-0
From the beginning of the game, Olympiacos imposed its rhythm and never let any margin to PAOK. The “reds” led 14-0 at 3’14’’ and completed an easy … stroll till the end.

First...
The “reds” did what they had to against Ilysiakos and sealed the first place of the League’s Regular season with 25 victories and just one defeat. Olympiacos edged the “yellow-blacks” 83-57 securing the home court advantage till the end of the play-offs beginning with the games against PAOK.

One more victory…
With Kostas Papanikolaou playing his best game with Olympiacos shirt, the “reds” had no problem reaching an easy 24th victory in the regular season and are now one step away from the first place.

One step away from Istanbul
Olympiacos did its part and with the awesome support of 12,000 fans reached an easy victory 75-55.

Two steps away from the first place
Olympiacos beat Panionio as well (73-64) and is now only two steps away from the first place at the end of the Regular season of the League.

Frozen in Moscow
Olympiacos would not have gained much by winning in Moscow, since the … final is on Thursday (1/3) against Galatasaray in the Peace and Friendship Stadium. However, the 96-64 defeat was definitely outside the “red” plans.

The Olympiacos players knew that they were the absolute favorites against a weakened PAOK, but they also knew they had to show that on the floor from the beginning of the game, which is exactly what they did.

After the victory at the derby, Olympiacos needed seven wins to finish at the top of the League’s Regular season. Now, it only takes six because the team went through the toughest home court unharmed.

Olympiacos was the big winner of the derby against Panathinaikos (78-77) and now has the advantage for winning the top ranking spot in the Regular season of the League. The top spot that is also accompanied by the absolute home court advantage till the end of the play-offs.

Olympiacos fulfilled his duty in Istanbul and now holds his fate in his own hands. On the anniversary of the gate 7 tragedy, the “reds” playing with a black ribbon on their shirts have joy to all the Olympiacos fans.
