A big win in the «red & white» Paris

Olympiacos delivered a fantastic performance in Paris, breaking two offensive records in its history in the first half and defeating Paris 104–87 to reach 20 wins in 30 EuroLeague games.

In front of 1,000 of our fans, who created a magical atmosphere in Paris on the 101st anniversary of the club, our team was unstoppable from the 3-point line, making 17 of 30. Led by Tyler Dorsey (24 points, 5 assists) and Alec Peters (18 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists), Olympiacos secured an impressive victory.

Before the game, the entire Olympiacos delegation went to the stands to stand beside our fans and laid flowers in memory of Tassos, an Olympiacos supporter who passed away shortly before traveling to Paris.

Georgios Bartzokas started the game with Frank Ntilikina, Tyler Dorsey, Kostas Papanikolaou, Alec Peters, and Nikola Milutinov, and the team came out red-hot from the opening tip. With Dorsey and Peters combining for 23 points in the first quarter and posting incredible shooting numbers, Olympiacos built an 11-point lead (22–33) while shooting 80% from three (8/10). Peters was perfect with 4/4 threes, while Dorsey added 3/4, as Olympiacos answered Paris’ fast pace with excellent ball movement and long-range shooting.

The ‘red & whites’ did not slow down in the 2nd quarter. Cory Joseph and Evan Fournier formed the backcourt duo and immediately got into the rhythm of the game. Fournier became the third player in double figures before halftime, while every player used by Bartzokas managed to contribute offensively.

Joseph, McKissic, Ntilikina, Ward, and Fournier all scored from the perimeter in the second quarter, while Donta Hall dominated in the paint. Paris also began converting its trademark long-range shots and cut the deficit. A three-pointer by Lamar Stevens brought the score to within four (47–51), but with Dorsey returning to the floor and taking control again, Olympiacos went into halftime ahead 55–63.

The 63 points marked the highest scoring first half in Olympiacos’ EuroLeague history, while the 13 made threes set a EuroLeague record for a first half.

In the second half, Olympiacos tried to control the frenetic pace of the game to secure the advantage for the win. The ‘red & whites’ facilitated for Nikola Milutinov, who finished efficiently around the basket, while Alec Peters continued his strong performance. Olympiacos was briefly affected by Frank Ntilikina’s 3rd foul at 22’, but Cory Joseph was once again positive in his second stint on the floor, and the team toughened up defensively, going almost 5’ without conceding a basket.

With a three-pointer from Joseph and smart decisions from Peters and Dorsey, Olympiacos extended the lead to 18 points (69–87) by the end of the third quarter.

At the start of the fourth quarter, the ‘red & whites’ went through their worst stretch of the game, remaining scoreless for 4’. The drought ended when Tyler Dorsey scored two consecutive baskets to reach 24 personal points and push the lead back to 14 (77–91).

After that, Evan Fournier took over. As he often does against teams from his homeland, the French guard was outstanding, scoring 5 consecutive points and then assisting the excellent Donta Hall, whose dunk brought Olympiacos to 100 points with 2’ remaining.

The game ended with a 17-point margin (87–104), and Olympiacos now turns its attention to Monaco, with the next matchup coming in less than 48 hours.

The quarters: 22–33, 55–63, 69–87, 87–104.
