A big win against Fenerbahce and a record for Fournier

Olympiacos sped up in the second half and defeated Fenerbahce 104–87 for the rescheduled game of the 14th EuroLeague round.

Evan Fournier was outstanding, setting a personal record with the 'red & whites', with his 36 points. He was followed by Sasha Vezenkov, who finished with 24 points, shooting 10/11 from the 2-point range.

Giorgos Bartzokas started the game with Walkup, Dorsey, Papanikolaou, Vezenkov, and Milutinov. Vezenkov was excellent from the start with 10 points 6' into the game, but Tarik Biberovic was amazing from beyond the 3-point line, hitting 3/3 to make it 13–20.

Olympiacos did not manage its fouls well in the first quarter, and Fenerbahce moved the ball effectively, while Horton-Tucker made an immediate impact off the bench, scoring 6 points to make it 19–26. Fener closed the first quarter with a 6-point lead (23–29), as Bonzie Colson hit a buzzer-beating three-pointer, marking their sixth three (6/10), while Olympiacos had yet to score from beyond the arc.

Evan Fournier came in hot, making his first three attempts and scoring 7 straight points, while a dunk by Ward gave Olympiacos the lead (30–29). The Frenchman was sensational in the second quarter, scoring 17 points by halftime, boosting the team’s morale and energizing the crowd. Donta Hall was also crucial during this stretch, dominating the paint with 4 points and 2 blocks.

However, the European champions, despite trailing by 10 (46–36), managed to close the gap, and with another last-second three by Colson, went into halftime down by just 2 (48–46).

Olympiacos started the third quarter just like the second one, but this time their run was even bigger. With Walkup, Vezenkov, and Milutinov leading the charge, the 'red & whites' went on a 12–0 run to take a 14-point lead (60–46), firmly putting themselves in control.

The Turks, however, did not give up. Continuing their incredible shooting from beyond 6.75m (11/18 three-pointers by the 27th minute), Jasikevicius’ players cut the deficit to seven (65–58). The gap remained until the end of the quarter, with Fener relying on the excellent Horton-Tucker.

The American stayed red-hot at the start of the fourth quarter, scoring 7 consecutive points to make it 78–75 after only two minutes. Olympiacos responded with Evan Fournier, who continued his outstanding performance. Midway through the final quarter, the game resembled an unofficial one-on-one battle between the two, with Horton-Tucker on 27 and Fournier on 29 points with 5' remaining.

Fournier ultimately won that duel, continuing to score and finishing with 36 points, setting a personal record with Olympiacos and securing the team’s 21st win. Olympiacos also claimed the point differential advantage over Fenerbahce, winning by 17 points (104–87).
