In the first half of the second quarter, Olympiacos continued to struggle, and Joseph and Dorsey were both taken out (for the remainder of the half) due to foul trouble. Defense from both teams was disappointing, but thanks to some key offensive plays by Dorsey late in the quarter, Olympiacos took a seven-point lead (69–62).
The final quarter began with a basket and foul by Tyrique Jones, giving Olympiacos its first double-digit lead (72–62). Baskonia, taking advantage of Olympiacos’ sluggishness, attempted another comeback and managed to cut the deficit to 6 (80–74) with a three-pointer by Cobi Simmons with 4:23'' remaining.
