2nd away win at OAKA this season and 21/21 for Olympiacos

Olympiacos was excellent in the derby of the 23rd round of the Stoiximan GBL and defeated Panathinaikos 101–94 at the OAKA.

Although he only played for 13' before being unfairly ejected, Tyler Dorsey was Olympiacos’ top scorer with 18 points, while the team found scoring from everyone (8 players with 8+ points), with Giannoulis Larentzakis as the “hidden” MVP, finishing with 12 points and 6 assists.

Giorgios Bartzokas started the game with Walkup, Dorsey, Papanikolaou, Vezenkov, and Milutinov. Tyler Dorsey was aggressive from the start, trying to exploit every weakness in the 'green' defense, and with 9 points in the first 6' he got to set the tone for the team.

Sasha Vezenkov took over the baton next, adding 7 points before being replaced by Peters, while Dorsey remained unstoppable. The Greek-American guard scored 18 points in the first quarter, including 4 three-pointers, giving Olympiacos a 9-point lead (21–30) at the end of the first period.

In the second quarter, Dorsey started with two missed shots, but Olympiacos was not shaken. With Monte Morris organizing the offense brilliantly and Donta Hall dunking three times, Olympiacos extended the lead to +14 twice.

Panathinaikos reduced the gap mainly from the free-throw line and through Kendrick Nunn’s creativity, but Olympiacos maintained its focus. Bartzokas used a 4-forward lineup for a significant part of the second quarter, despite serious foul trouble, with the team committing 15 fouls in the first half. However, this risk paid off. Thomas Walkup scored 6 consecutive points to push the lead to +15, but the game became tense about a minute before halftime.

Dorsey and Nunn were involved in a heated altercation and were both ejected, although the replay showed that the Olympiacos guard did not move against the American. Shortly after, Giannoulis Larentzakis hit a triple to give Olympiacos its biggest lead. The first half ended with a 16-point difference (44–60), with the team shooting 8/12 from three-point range.

In the third quarter, Panathinaikos started stronger and, with Shorts leading the way, cut the deficit to 5 points (66–71). Tyson Ward stepped up for Olympiacos at that point, scoring 5 straight points to revive the offense. Osman was very influential during that time, and the hosts won the quarter 30–20, but Olympiacos, with Hall, entered the final stretch with a 6-point lead (74–80).

The early scoring drought in the fourth quarter was broken by Giannoulis Larentzakis, who was outstanding. With 6 back-to-back points, the Greek guard became the key factor Olympiacos needed at that crucial moment. However, Panathinaikos did not give up, even when trailing by 12 (74–86) with a little more than 5' remaining, temporarily reducing the deficit.

Olympiacos, however, could not let the game slip away. With Larentzakis and Papanikolaou finishing strong and Donta Hall dominating in the air, the team secured the derby (final score 94–101) and reached 21 wins in 21 games in the Greek league.

The quarters: 21–30, 44–60, 74–80, 94–101
