Olympiacos finishes the regular season undefeated

Olympiacos defeated AEK 94–84 in Ano Liosia, completing a perfect 24–0 record in the Stoiximan GBL regular season.

Our team’s top scorers were Dorsey and Fournier with 14 points each, while Olympiacos had 6 players in double figures (Vezenkov, Milutinov, Dorsey, Papanikolaou, Jones, Fournier). In the playoffs, the 'red & whites' will face Kolossos Rhodes, who finished in the 8th position.

Giorgos Bartzokas started the game with Walkup, Dorsey, Ward, Vezenkov, and Milutinov. AEK made a strong start in the game with a 9–0 run, hitting 3 triples, but Olympiacos responded with EuroLeague top performers Vezenkov, Milutinov, and Dorsey leading the offense.

Three minutes before the end of the first quarter, our team tied the game (14–14), with Tyson Ward becoming part of the offensive equation. The first quarter ended with Olympiacos taking a narrow lead (21–22), and Tyler Dorsey leading all scorers with 8 points.

At the start of the second quarter, it was time for Tyrique Jones to shine. The American center, returning to action after nearly a month, was highly aggressive and scored 9 points in almost 5 minutes.

Midway through the quarter, our captain Kostas Papanikolaou scored 5 points in a row, and a dunk by Milutinov gave Olympiacos a +5 lead (33–38). Monte Morris was also crucial in the second quarter, contributing 6 points and one assist to help the team take a 6-point lead into halftime (40–46).

The third quarter started with a delay of about 20 minutes, as all final-round games had to finish simultaneously, and the interruption seemed to affect Olympiacos. AEK, led by Vassilis Charalampopoulos, got back into the game. At that point, the familiar duo of Dorsey and Vezenkov stepped up. With consecutive threes, they gave Olympiacos the lead, and the quarter ended with a +4 score advantage for our team (64–68).

In the final and decisive quarter, it was Evan Fournier’s time. The Frenchman scored 8 straight points to give Olympiacos a double-digit lead (68–78) with 7 minutes remaining.

AEK tried to come back and cut the deficit to 5 (73–78), but Olympiacos responded once again, led by its captain, and ultimately secured a 10-point victory (84–94).

The quarters: 21–22, 40–46, 64–68, 84–94.
