'Swept’ Promitheas and now march full speed for the title!

Olympiacos ‘demolished’ Promitheas at the SEF 106-69, won the semis 3-0 and got a boisterous qualification to the Stoiximan Basket League finals.

The ‘reds’ controlled the tempo from the start and got to build a +14 lead (23-9, at 8’). With a partial 10-3, the guests closed in to 7p. (26-19) at 30’, but Olympiacos struck back immediately. With superb defense, excellent ball movement (evident enough in the 21 assists dished in the first half, 7 of which came from Kostas Sloukas and another 5 from Kostas Papanikolaou) and Hassan Martin completely dominating the post, they sent the difference sky-high to 19p. (41-22 at 16’) and closed the first half at +17 (50-33).

Relying on the its good perimeter percentages, our team increased the distance even more (+24, 61-37 at 23’). The Patras team tried to get back in the game with hard defense (65-41), however, Tyler Dorsey and Kostas Papanikolau saw that the order was immediately restored (+29, 82-53 at 31’). Despite the game having been decided, Bartzokas’ players denied slowing down (96-58 at 35’). The 100p. barrier was brought down by Shaquielle McKissic from the 6.75m. arc (102-64 at 38’), while the widest difference was that of 30p. (104-64 at 39’).
