Olympiacos bested Promitheas 81-72, in a friendly game held today (September 17) in Patras.
The game was close for the most part of the first half (20-22 at 13’), however, the bad offensive decisions and mainly the many turnovers the red & white were making, allowed the hosts to run a partial 7-0 and go to the locker rooms at halftime leading by 6 (36-30 at 20’).
In the 3rd quarter our team’s outlook was much better. The team continued with pressing defense, dominated the rebounds, moved the ball better and with a buzzer beater by Walkup got to lead for the first time with 7 points (51-58 at 30’). With the same ‘recipe’ and with Black dominating the post, Olympiacos got to even lead by 18 (61-79 at 37’), reaching a comfortable victory.
* Our team played without Kostas Papanikolaou, Kostas Sloukas, Sasha Vezenkov, Giannoulis Larentzakis and Moustapha Fall.
