Hall on Milan: “Let’s finish the season strong”

Olympiacos hosts Armani Milan for the final round of the EuroLeague Regular Season, and Donta Hall, who has been outstanding for the 'red & whites' in recent games, spoke to olympiacosbc.gr about the game, the season so far, and his personal performance.

First, tell us about tomorrow’s game. What should Olympiacos pay attention to against Armani Milan?

“To be honest, we just need to play Olympiacos' basketball. It’s going to be a tough game, but we have to finish the season strong and prepare as well as possible for the postseason.”

If we win tomorrow, we secure first place in the Regular Season. Can you give us a recap of it?

“It had a lot of ups and downs. We started a bit average, but we found our rhythm and stuck to the plan together. We play like we are ‘one’ and we enjoy each other’s game. Our fans have always been there for us, and all of this basically showed us the way to the top. Of course, the season also had many negatives, like injuries, but we persisted and here we are today.”

Would you say this is your best EuroLeague season personally?

“Definitely not. I’ve had a pretty solid season this year, but I’m still far from my best one.”

Maybe your most mature one?

“Yes, that I agree with. I think this is my most mature season in the EuroLeague. Like I said, I wouldn’t call it my best, but I’m enjoying it.”

Everyone has talked about that dunk against Hapoel except you. Would you like to describe it?

“I knew Thomas was going to throw it to me no matter what, so in my mind I had to catch it no matter what. It’s nice to be trusted in those situations, and I wanted to deliver.”

Is there any height that is too high for you?

“No, I don’t think there’s anything too high. I think my timing in those situations is good, so nothing feels too high. I’d say Kai Jones and I are the most athletic players in this type of play in the whole of the EuroLeague.”

Also, it felt like you wanted to say something with your celebration. Was it also a foul?

“Man, honestly… It was definitely a foul, and you know I don’t complain much. Even then, I reacted because it was off the play. But it’s OK; I like it. That’s basketball.”

The coach said earlier that other teams should be worried about facing Olympiacos, not the other way around. Do you agree?

“Absolutely. Our mindset right now is to finish the season in the strongest way possible. We’ll definitely come tomorrow to play our best game and enjoy it together with our fans.”
